In August/September we traveled with friends 3 weeks through South Europe, by car Below analogue pictures from this trip.
On August 21/22 1999 we were in France, on a campground named "Municipal du Lac de Pontcharal" in Vigioes. GPS: 45.36857,1.53851 A beautiful, quit and nice campground at the lakeside. An ideal place to stay, if you have to go on next day. For example Spain.
August 22,23 en 24 1999 we stayed in the village "Bielsa" on campground "Pineta" in the Spanish Pyrenees. A very nice campground with beautiful nature. A good place to start making hikes into the mountains. There are many trails to walk.
August 24 1999 we were travelling deeper into the Pyrenees. Looking and searching for more nature and hiking trails. The next campground was "San Anton" in the village "Torla" (Huesca), very close to the entrance of National Park "Ordesa".
Clear blue water (very cold) and lots of waterfalls.
After Ordesa we went West to "Campground Zuriza", in the district of "Anso" (Huesca). GPS: 42.86595 -0.81215 This place is also in the Pyrenees. We have been here on 26th and 27th of August in 1999. Such a beautiful place, specially when you love watching birds. May birds of prey. A very good place for photography.

From Zuriza we drive into the middle of Spain, very very hot and dry climate. The landscape is so poor and dry to see. We stopped and stayed in Salamanca. This is in the West op Spain, close to the Portuguese border.
Our dog "Terry" always goes with us camping and hiking. On the 28th and 29th we stayed in Salamanca. The name of the campground is "La Capea".

This is a nice, simple and comfortable campground to stay. Sanitary was okay, but there was nothing to do at the campground or close area. So for kids there is nothing special to do. It's enough to stay for 1 or 2 nights. Good for a passage through.
On the 29th of August we went to Portugal, to stay there for a while.
We stayed at the river "Dao" from 29th of August till 2nd of September. Totally for 5 days. The place is close to the village/city Viseu, more to the north op Portugal. The name of the campgound is: "Moinhos de Dao".

In 1998 we have also been here for a while. It is so beautiful and quiet. The campground is primitive. You can reach the campground by a small and steep road downhill. No asphalt but a road with many stones and holes. So be careful and don't pass this road with a caravan. That's out of the question. It's a campground for tents. But if you reach the campground, it is so nice, quiet and peaceful. It is at the riverside, so you can swim or go fishing or canoeing. There is no electric and in the evenings there are candles everywhere at the campground. In the toilets there are candles too. hat is very pleasant. Take your torch everywhere you walk by night. Otherwise you don't see nothing at all.
You flush the toilet with a bucket with water and you wash your clothes by hand. After washing your clothes you put it through the wringer and then hang it in the sun. In a hour it is all dry.
At the campground there is a lot of shadow. That's very comfortable when it is hot at the day.
This campground will always be in our minds. We had such a great time here. Lots of fun, no stress, good food, nice nature and nice people.
"Viseu" - village and market
Last day at the Dao before we leave Viseu. Breakfast together. This was good.
Unfortunately the days at the Dao are finished. It was very beautiful From here we went to the Portuguese coast line. We went to "Angeiras", a small village above Porto. On this Orbitur campground in Angeiras we stayed 2 nights/3 days. Data: 2 September - 4 September 1999.

From the 4th till 8th of September 1999 we dropped our camp at campground "Monte Cabo", in the provence Galicië, in the village "Sanxenxo". This is at North-West Spain at the coast line.

After Monte Cabo we went back home. At the 8th and 9th of September we stayed at campground "El Desfiladero" in Pancorbo (Burgos).

This wasn't a nice place. Boring. Nothing to see and nothing to do. Just enough for 1 night. At the 9th and 10th September we stayed at the river "Loire" in France. Village "Blois". West of Paris. After these night we went back home. Back to The Netherlands. At the 10th we arrived back home. Home sweet Home!!!!
